Couples & Family Counseling

Differing from individual counseling, couples and family counseling focuses on the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors within the relationship system. Treatment focuses on working through challenges to build healthier, more satisfying relationships.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a treatment modality focused on the healing powers of play. Typically implemented with children and adolescents, communication and change is facilitated through play with games, toys, dolls, sand tray, and many other playful activities. Play therapy methods can also be implemented with older teens and adults depending on treatment goals.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a a therapeutic intervention wherein the client is asked to focus on a distressing memory while engaging in bi-lateral stimulation. This process helps reduce the adverse symptoms many people experience as a result of going through trauma and other significant experiences.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is a form of treatment facilitated by a trained art therapist, wherein the art-making and processing led by the art therapist is utilized as an agent of change. This form of therapy is suitable for clients of all ages and all skill-levels, and can address a wide variety of mental health concerns. The act of creating becomes the form of communication without relying solely on expression through verbal language.

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback sessions rely on the utilization of biofeedback applied directly to the brain non-invasively. This intervention is highly effective in treating a variety of mental health symptoms. The goal of neurofeedback treatment is for the central nervous system to function more optimally through self-regulation training.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based intervention focused on the client’s improved awareness of the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The therapist helps clients to recognize cognitive distortions, process emotions connected to those distortions, then develop adaptive skills to better cope with challenges.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (ECFT)

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) is a treatment approach specific to couples counseling, wherein the goal is to restructure the emotional experience of individuals in the relationship while also developing more secure and fulfilling attachment between partners.

Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a cognitive behavioral intervention focused on the alleviation of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) symptoms. This evidence-based treatment method involves the strategic and purposeful exposure to the anxiety trigger(s) over time to end the cycle of obsessions and compulsive behaviors.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based treatment intervention focused on accessing and healing the inner parts of the individual. IFS is implemented to first focus on the inner core of Self, then move outward with the goal of further healing inner parts to help clients feel more connected within themselves and within their relationships with the world and others.
